TEMPINBOX

Privacy

Plain-language notes on what TEMPINBOX does and doesn’t do with your data.

No account required

TEMPINBOX does not ask for a name, email, or password. There is no account system and no login of any kind.

How email is processed

Temporary inboxes are provided through our configured email provider (Testmail.app). When you generate an address, incoming messages are received and stored by that provider under our namespace, and our server queries the provider on your behalf to display messages in your browser.

Messages are retained by the provider for a limited period before being automatically removed. We don’t control the exact retention window — it depends on our provider plan — so treat any message you need as temporary.

What we store in your browser

A small, short-lived cookie remembers which temporary inbox you’re currently using, so it survives a normal page refresh. It contains only your generated address and tag — never provider credentials or account information — and it is not a persistent identity: creating a new inbox replaces it immediately.

Do not use temporary inboxes for sensitive information

Temporary inboxes are intended for testing, development, and situations where a short-lived address is appropriate — not for banking, healthcare, government services, or anything involving sensitive personal data.
