How TEMPINBOX works
No account, no setup. Here’s what happens behind the scenes.
How it works
Three steps, no setup.
Create an inbox
Generate a temporary email address instantly.
Use the address
Use it wherever a temporary testing inbox is appropriate.
Receive emails
Incoming messages appear automatically.
Address generation
When you click “Create Temporary Inbox,” the server generates a cryptographically random inbox tag and composes an address using our configured email namespace. The tag is never derived from a timestamp or sequential counter, so addresses can’t be guessed or enumerated.
Receiving mail
Your browser polls our server for new messages every few seconds while the tab is open and visible. The server queries our email provider on your behalf — your browser never talks to the provider directly, and the provider credentials never leave the server.
Reading mail safely
Message content is treated as untrusted input. HTML bodies are sanitized on the server and rendered inside an isolated, sandboxed frame in your browser, so scripts, tracking pixels, and other risky content in an email can’t affect the TEMPINBOX application itself.
Questions?
No. TEMPINBOX has no login, signup, or password. Open the inbox page and an address is generated for you immediately.
